Through valuable training, our team environment, and real hands-on experiences, you will learn more about the mission God has for you. You will be discipled and evaluated by professional staff and leadership experts. You will learn about your self through nine different personal assessments. You will have exposure to a wide variety of ministries and organizations during your time at LeaderTreks. From your two years on staff, you will have a set of skills and experiences that will have clarified your calling for the next step in your life. You’ll be prepared as a leaders, ready to meet the needs of the world with your unique gifts and passions.

Gain Valuable Experience

During your two-year commitment, you’ll build a solid foundation through intensive training and a wide range of experience.  In your first year we will equip you with the necessary tools to be a transformational leader, teacher, and facilitator. You will live out and articulates leadership principles and how they are used to influence others towards Christ. You will build skills in relationship management, experiential teaching and training, networking, and decision making as you lead trips, train interns, travel, and speak. During your second year at LeaderTreks, we will place you in a specific role and responsibility that matches your interests and abilities with the needs of our organization.

Live your life on a mission! As you travel to locations all over the world, you will partner with missionaries and local church leaders who are working to confront poverty, place children-at- risk in permanent homes, and pursue justice. You will have the opportunity to cast a vision for students for how they can change the world as you serve in urban, international, backcountry, and cross-cultural environments. Evaluation

Challenge and evaluation go hand in hand. You will be evaluated once a week in LeaderTreks’ five shared values, and additionally, your performance on every trip and training event will be evaluated in a consistent and constructive manner.

Experiential Learning/Adventure

Principles plus experiences lead to growth and development. You will apply principles in many arenas — volunteering in ministries, team-building activities, ownership in the ministry, and leading training events and trips.

We expect you to take initiative. Being effective in ministry requires critical thinking, practice, studying, and research to be transformational in the lives of youth pastors and students. We desire that you prepare and equip yourself for ministry.

We expect that you will take ownership to make your trips excellent. Lead within your gifted-ness and personality while staying consistent within the LeaderTreks model.

We require that you align with our shared values, pursuing them in and out of our office. We set high expectations and promise greatness to our partners; it is crucial that you deliver.

Full-Time Staff Details

Housing

We will work with you to find affordable housing. The typical cost of living can range from free (living with a generous host family) to upwards of $750/month if you plan to live on your own.

Trips

You will be on trips with students 12-15 weeks out of the year, 3-5 weeks in the spring and 8-10 weeks in the summer. In addition, there are two staff training trips each year. For 5-10 weekends, you will be leading student training events at churches and Christian schools.

Faith-Based

We do not have a required amount you need to raise; it is up to you based on your needs. You will receive fund raising training prior to joining our team. Variables in fund raising goals include: cost of living, student loans, and savings.

Schedule

Your two-year commitment will follow the typical school calendar. The year begins in September. We break for one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, and one week at Spring break. Additionally, we provide two weeks off at the end of the summer.
