Free Christmas Bible Study – He Came To Serve

By Doug Franklin December 17, 2013

Christmas is a celebration of Jesus coming to earth. It’s a time of rejoicing and remembering His birth and the beginning of His mission. It also provides an incredible opportunity to talk to students about why Jesus came. What was His mission? Why did the Son of God come in the form of man and live 33 years on this earth?

This Christmas Freebie studies Mark 10:35-45 and the answer Jesus Himself gives to this question: Why did the Son of God come? He did “not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Challenge your students with this gospel teaching and its unavoidable call to servant leadership.

Through discussion questions, an interactive activity, and powerful stories, this study focuses students on who Jesus came to be and the kind of radical discipleship He calls us to have as His followers. It influences students to make specific applications toward living lives of service and humble leadership -starting with the other students that sit next to them in church every week and reaching out to other unique spheres of influence each student is involved in outside of the church.

Pair the experience of Christmas with the principles in this intentional study to help students take the truth of Scripture and transformationally apply it to their lives.
