Leadership Void

If you don’t lead, someone will. Do you have someone on your team who is trampling on your leadership? It maybe because they see a void in your leadership and they are trying to fill it. Its true, if you leave an aspect of your ministry vacant, others will fill it and they will fill it with their vision not yours. We can’t just lead the parts of the ministry that we like, we must be willing to lead the whole ministry. We have to remember that God has given us the vision and leadership for the ministry, we must embrace it and grow our God-given vision through it.  Keep in mind the following:

1. Hold vision – Delegate responsibility.
As the leader, the vision must come from you. but this doesn’t mean you have to micromanage every aspect of the ministry. Let others take responsibility while keeping your God-given vision at the forefront of the ministry.

2. Leadership is good.
20-somethings tell me they don’t like leadership, what they mean is they don’t like some leaders. Listen, leadership is good, in fact nothing good in the world happens without leadership. Separate the two (leaders from leadership) because they are different.

3. Leadership is life
Leadership is for those that want in the game. Who want to see change happen. Who are willing to get muddy and bloody. Who want to pour themselves out and let God fill them. Don’t worry if there is a big cost to your leadership, God will pay you back in full.
