The Loose Theology Of Christmas Parties

Heaven was a buzz; the man king Jesus had just been born into God’s special world. Joy overflowed heaven. Most of heaven had no idea of how God would redeem the world. They knew he would because he had promised. And they were shocked that God himself would enter the fallen world to get his children back.

From the throne room God called for his messenger angel and gave him the plan.

“I want you to go to the people I love most and tell them the good news that the wait is over. I am here,” he said.

The messenger angel had been busy traveling back and forth to earth over the past year and another trip seemed about right, but it dawned on him that the trip would be a lot more fun if someone would go with him.

So he asked God, “Who should I take with me?”

God was slightly caught off guard; he always sent just one messenger, but it made sense. After all, this was the biggest and best news the world would ever get.

So God said, “Take everyone.”

“The whole heavenly host?” asked the angel.

“Sure, it will be a ton of fun for everyone.”

And so the Christmas party was born.
