Youth Ministry Is Not About Paradigms

youth worker, youth ministry, leadership

Recently I heard of a christian book publisher looking for new paradigms in youth ministry. Their focus was to write the next youth ministry “paradigm shift” book. Even though this would be a good seller I don’t think we need another paradigm book. The truth is, we need to build intentional relationships with students in order to impact them for Christ. Until we get that down I don’t think we need another “how-does-youth-ministry-work” book.  Don’t try and fit your students into paradigms of youth ministry; love them into a life with Christ. Ask yourself what their greatest needs are and go and serve them. Meet your students where they are at, not where a book tells you they might be.
