High Achievers

By Doug Franklin April 19, 2010

High achievers have the amazing ability to do more than the average
person. There is something in them that shines and stands out to
others. Elisha was that type of person. He never thought about what
God couldn’t do; he only thought about what God would do. He never
thought about the obvious, but instead thought about the powerful. He
didn’t see the world through our eyes; he saw it through God’s eyes.
No wonder he did more miracles than any other prophet. In fact, the
only person who ever did more amazing things was Jesus Himself. Elisha
was a man of faith; he always sought what God wanted. You never find
Elisha doing anything for himself, and you never find Elisha doing
anything that God didn’t want him to do.

Elisha was the people’s prophet. The miracles he did were not big and
flashy, but simple and “ordinary.” He made an axhead float (2 King 6),
took poison out of stew (2 Kings 4), and gave a widow oil (2 Kings 4).

We need to think like this guy – always seeking what can be done, never
whining about our circumstances. Elisha, more than anyone else,
comprehended God’s reality. In doing so, he counted on God’s presence
and power enabling him to do the unimaginable.
