youth worker, youth ministry, integrity

By Doug Franklin December 8, 2011

What makes followers willing to completely trust a leader? More often
than not meaningful trust is based on the integrity of the leader.
Leaders demonstrate integrity through their strength of character.
The effective leader must display a character worth following.

Billy Graham is an excellent example of a leader who demonstrates
exemplary character. The influence of this man has reached far across
the globe. It is estimated that he has preached to more live
audiences than any one else in history, at least 210 million people in
over 185 countries and territories. He has written over two dozen books,
many of which have appeared on top best-selling lists. He has counseled US
presidents and other dignitaries from around the world. In fact it is
estimated that Billy has met more important world leaders than anyone
else alive today.

What has been the secret of Mr. Graham’s success as a leader? Under
girding all of his hard work and accomplishments is his integrity.
People listen to what he has to say because they know he strives to
live out those same principles in his own life. Billy is so committed
to avoiding any indication of impropriety that he never travels alone.
He takes extreme care to protect his integrity and people follow him
for it.
