Leading while Following

I was praying in my office asking God for focus, leading, and direction when a staff member gently knocked on my door. I could see from the look in their eye they were also seeking focus, direction and leadership for a problem they were facing. I so badly wanted to say “me too.” It’s odd, we are called to lead people at the same time we are trying to follow God.  Odd…but oh so wonderful, because it keeps you humble and allows you to understand what your brother and sisters are going through. It’s a privilege to lead; to be safe in God’s wake, to trust him for advice and wisdom, and then turn to others and offer them the same.
