One Thing to Grow Leadership

By Doug Franklin April 20, 2011

Lots of times we think of leadership development as a long process, and this is true. I believe I am still growing as a leader and learning new things about myself. That said, it’s not an excuse to leave leadership growth for later; you can do things today to grow your leadership influence. For example, today, start telling the people who serve with you one specific thing that they are doing well. Like, “Bob, I noticed that when you share with students they are all listening to you. You must have built a great relationship with them. Thanks for all your do for the students are this church.” By saying specific words of encouragement you will be helping people see how God is working through them. Giving people this kind of insight will allow you to have influence in their lives. They will be interested in your vision for the church and will want to work with you to see that vision come true. By encouraging others you will be growing your leadership. What are some of your ideas to grow your leadership in one day?
