Ultimatums

Leaders who use the threat of quitting to get their way are powerful in the short run but weak overall leaders. We use ultimatums to stand on principle or to make ourselves sound confident but in the end it’s the tool of a weak leader. If your idea is good, you won’t have any trouble explaining it; if you use compassion and be patient your teammates will soak it in. If your idea is good it will stick and you will have gain more than your own way, you will have gain followers. If you want to take your ball and go home then you are going to find yourself alone.
