Free Bible Study – The Last Words of Jesus

By Doug Franklin October 23, 2013

“And Jesus came and said to [the disciples], “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

These are the last words Jesus spoke while He was living on earth. They are known in the church as “The Great Commission” and are generally recognizable to most Christians. But what significance do these words actually hold in our lives? How do they impact the way we live and influence the decisions we make on a day to day basis?

At LeaderTreks, we believe that these last words of Jesus contain the universal calling for Christians to be leaders. Leadership is influence, and this passage commands us to go out and  influence the world for Christ. This is not just a calling for adults, but for anyone who is a follower of Christ – that means students too!

In this study, students will not simply gain a clearer understanding of the significance of these words, but they will be asked to apply that significance to their lives. They will be led through a series of questions that break down “The Great Commission” in a way that challenges them to intentionally live their lives with a singular focus and determination for making disciples.
