Who Leaders Are

By Doug Franklin April 9, 2010

We often think of leaders as the most outgoing or the best looking. We even think the leader is the one who has the best ideas, but this is not always true. Because we have these beliefs, we are often disappointed in our leaders when they don’t make good decisions or lead us in the right way. So who should we seek as our leaders? I think leaders should be …

1. People of Integrity
Integrity is the ability to live out core values in an honest and consistent manner, in all situations; its a key quality of leadership. When our leaders have integrity we can have confidence that they have our best at heart. We can also trust what they say and believe they will give their all in leading us.

2. People of Faith
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. When we follow leaders of faith we know they will take risks and not do things the same old way; so we will know that we will always be growing. People of faith also have a great connection to God and we can be sure that each action is in step with our Father.

3. People of Obedience

Obedience is the act of carrying out a command or order. When our leaders are obedient we know they follow the King. We also know they are disciplined and can be counted on to make tough decisions. Leaders who are obedient don’t take short-cuts and won’t let us down. They can be trusted.
