Impact: Summer Internship Kick-off

By Doug Franklin June 2, 2014

Everything LeaderTreks does involves developing leaders. Our summer internship program, Impact, is no different. This past weekend was the summer kick-off for our Impact team members. It all starts with our full-time staff taking the interns on a mission trip. This trip is just like the trips they will be leading throughout the summer.

We take them through leadership assessments and team challenges. We give them individual attention as we help them identify their strengths. We mentor them in leadership so they are prepared to mentor students on their own.

Our internship program is not about college students coming to LeaderTreks to do all the dirty work. We want them to lead alongside our full-time staff so they can improve their personal leadership skills. Our staff evaluates and debriefs the interns as they serve youth ministries together. Through the relationships between our staff and our interns, growth happens.

We are so grateful for our Impact team members. Their service makes the summer fun for our staff. We thank God for each of them, and we pray that they will have a life-changing summer marked by personal growth and God’s blessings.
