Equipping Requires a Plan

By Doug Franklin September 11, 2009

Before you place your adult volunteers into small group leadership, make sure they have the training they need. To do this, make a plan for equipping your volunteers. Start by considering the skills they need, the best way to train them and the amount of time they have for training. Having a plan does two things for us; one it keeps us from not training them, and two, from not doing what we did last year.

You will be surprised by what a plan can do for you. Even the process of making it will make you think. When you strategize, you began to think of things you never thought of before. You can also get insight from other small group leaders or other youth pastors. Before long you will have a good plan and your adults and students will benefit.
